Day 8 - Metallic

Well, when this day came around all I could think of was Metallica. So I went with it.

This is what I was going for.. Oops

Day 7 - Black & White

I'm not proud of the way these cam out, shaky lines and weird triangles. Maybe I'll redo them, but probably not.

Day 6 - Violet?

Day 6! I'm doing alright getting through this challenge in a timely manner, and I have black & white on my nails as I write this, but I may redo it haha. Way too indecisive for this! But onto the point. I'm a little color illiterate, and I don't even think I have any violet polishes. But I might have gotten one in this months Julep Maven box. Who knows! So naturally, this mani has nothing to do with violet, but I did use purple! And onto the Lightning!

I started with two coats of OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight. Then mixed it with OPI My Boyfriend Scales walls and sponged it on in the shape I wanted the bolts to be. Then I sponged on Ozotic 903 and 528. Then I used acrylic paint for the bolts. Or trees. Whatever they look like to you!

Day 5 - Blue

Hey guys! Onto day 5 - Blue! Overall, I'm pretty alright with how these came out. I'm not really excited about how not-noticable the jellyfish are, but what are you gonna do. I really upped the ante with myself on this one and I decided to put on my artistic pants and busted out the shading! I've been pretty into nail art for a few years now, but I'm not good at real art and I really haven't quite figured out what brushes work best but this challenge really is making me test, and second guess myself. But I'll take any progress I can get! So on that note, onto the jellyfish!

I'm also just now realizing how awful these pictures are.. but you can still see the shading! For these I started with two coats of OPI My Vampire is Buff and then used the sandwich bag type technique to get the water look with Essie Trophy Wife. I then freehanded on the jellyfish with Konad stamping polish in silver, then used the black and white Konad polishes for the shading.

Also, sorry about the busyness of the background, its just these crazy lightening leggings that I wore for the first time the other day! I'm still so excited about them and this was two weeks ago haha!

(Ps. Images enlarge to full size when you click them, these ones are a little too small to see details)
